Electrical Scholarship and Co-Op


North Star BlueScope Steel is pleased to offer this scholarship and co-op opportunity for High School Seniors graduating in the spring of 2018 who are interested in obtaining an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. The overall monetary value of the Scholarship and Co-Op is $113,500!!!

The North Star BlueScope Electrical Scholarship and Co-op includes reimbursement for tuition and books for two years to enable the participant to complete an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and up to twenty hours of work per week in the steel mill during these first two years in the program. During this time, the participant would be paired with an experienced electrical technician to help guide the participant’s development in the program.

During year’s 3 and 4, the participant will work full time and rotate through NSBSL’s three main operating areas applying the knowledge they learned while getting their Associate’s Degree. The NSBSL Scholarship & Co-op culminates with the participant being assigned to a department as a full time entry level Electrical Technician.
